BCHS is proud to offer a wide range of curricular offerings, which challenge and nurture the intellectual life of each student. All students take a college preparatory curriculum designed to meet the minimum subject requirements of the University of California and California State University systems.
Most students, however, go beyond these minimum entrance requirements, completing more than the required number of credits within a required discipline and taking advantage of BCHS’ Scholars Program and/or the numerous Honors and Advanced Placement courses. The richness and depth of our curriculum is visible in each and every one of our departments, with the strength of our program measured in the remarkable success our students achieve in their academic endeavors. This success is evidenced in the following displays of academic excellence:
- Four National Merit Finalists in the past five years, plus multiple commendations each year.
- SAT and ACT scores are consistently higher than both the state and national averages.
- Acceptance rates to college after graduation are consistently 100 percent.
- Students are being accepted at highly competitive colleges and universities such as UCLA, USC, UC Davis, Cal Poly, Colorado School of Mines, Rutgers, University of Richmond, Texas A&M, Boston University, Georgetown, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.
We invite you to explore our Departments and Curriculum pages to learn more about who we are and what we teach. In doing so, we are confident that you will find an aggressive and stimulating program for your student, which will not only prepare him or her for post-secondary education but inspire a lifetime of learning.
BCHS is equally committed to bringing the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the truth of scripture to prepare students to outthink their culture from a Christian worldview. It is out of this commitment to academic excellence that honors God, the individual character of our students develops producing behaviors that nurture a healthy school culture where students can soar.
