Academic Decathlon

Academic Decathlon is a rigorous competition that allows students to stretch their academic muscles. The decathlon is comprised of 10 events including arts, economics, essay, interview, language and literature, mathematics, music, science, social science and speech.
Students compete as both a nine-member team as well as individually in three divisions - honors (students with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher), scholastic (students with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 to 3.74) and varsity (students with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.99 or lower).

Winners from the Kern County Academic Decathlon advance to the state competition.
