BCHS hosts Colors of Christmas community event Dec. 13

Bakersfield Christian High School’s Colors of Christmas will be on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This free community event will light up the BCHS campus as guests follow the luminaria path through stations with live Christmas music, an art gallery, children’s activities, an interactive outdoor drama focused on the true heart of Christmas. Other highlights of the evening will include the live nativity and camel rides.
Not only will the music showcase BCHS’ band, guitar and show choir, but the Stockdale Christian School jazz band and the St. John’s Lutheran School strings, as well as other groups from the community, will also be performing at their respective stations throughout the night.

In the art area, guests will go on a docent-led tour of student artwork, plus have the opportunity to paint, as well as witness a masterpiece in the making while BCHS art teacher Scott Joseph does a live painting.

The children’s activities will be stationed in Santa’s Workshop where there will be a craft project, story-reading, plus, opportunities to take photos with Santa. The BCHS World Languages department will be singing in Spanish and American Sign Language and the BCHS robotics team will have some festive robots roaming around the area.

Food will be available for purchase and the BCHS alumni will host a hot cocoa bar. Guests are encouraged to experience all the different aspects of the evening at their own pace.

The grand finale of the evening includes all guests gathering to sing a carol by candlelight.
