Yurosek makes Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomore Football Team

BCHS sophomore, Ben Yurosek (No. 84), received honors among the top football players in the state. When Cal-Hi Sports published its All-State Sophomore Team in late January, Yurosek was one of the 60 players on the list, with only two being from Kern County.
Yurosek played both defensive end and tight end. Defensively, he had 56 tackles, 38 solo tackles, 13 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 2 fumbles recovered and 3 blocked kicks on special teams. On the offensive end he had 35 catches, 346 yards receiving, 9.9 yards per reception, 28.8 yards per game and 20 longest reception.

Head Coach Darren Carr identifies Yurosek as the ultimate team player. Carr went on to explain that when Yurosek came onto the team his freshman year to play offensive tackle, he never complained about his role even though he, and the coach, knew he had great receiving skills as well.

"He's exactly what we are talking about when we speak about being an Eagle," Carr said. "He's a hard working, unselfish, thoughtful, tough young man that wants to win. We as a staff can't say enough about him. The best part is, he has a drive to get better, it's never good enough for him and that's what we love about him."
