Athletics at BCHS is a vital part of the life of our school. One distinctive that sets athletics at BCHS apart from other high schools is the fact that we believe Jesus Christ is the foundation on which we build our teams. We also believe the athletic field is an extension and complement to the classroom. Thus, our student athletes are challenged to be outstanding representatives of Christ in their work ethic, commitment and citizenship on and off the athletic courts and fields.

BCHS has three seasons of sports. Teams compete in the South Yosemite League and the California Interscholastic Federation Central Section. (Prior to fall 2018, BCHS competed in the South Sequoia League.)

In recent years, approximately 75 percent of students participated in one or more sport. BCHS was named among the Div. IV Honorable Mention Schools of Year by Cal-Hi Sports in 2013-14. In addition to multiple section and league championships each year, BCHS' football team were the CIF SoCal Regional Champions and State Runners-up in 2013 and 2016, and the volleyball team were State Champions in 2006. Last year's accolades include a Division VI Championship for softball and 11 league titles (then as members of the South Sequoia League). Additionally, individual athletes experienced tremendous success with 10 First Team All-Area selections, 36 First Team League selections, four individual section titles and four individual league titles. Five athletes from the Class of 2018 signed to play their sport at the college level including Madi Daniel who was recruited to play golf at University of Oregon.

Athletic Trainer

The primary responsibilities of an athletic trainer are the assessment, care, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. It takes knowledge and understanding of the body's kinematic movements to ensure an athlete's optimal performance.
